Help The Dogs

Dear Member of the Dog Fancy:
The raid by the PSPCA of the Murder Hollow Bassets in rural Philadelphia County on July 27th is part and parcel of a growing pattern of abuse, driven by arrogant anti hunting and anti breeding groups, HSUS and PETA. This case is not just about the Murder Hollow. It is about protecting all of us from animal rights-driven attacks now and in the future. These people are trying anything to impose their will on us. There were many acts committed by the PSPCA on the 27th which are actionable and all will be pursued. To paraphrase the words of Benjamin Franklin, we must all hang together or we will most certainly hang separately. Each occurrence of this nature must be pursued and the perpetrators held responsible to the fullest extent of the law. We will be setting precedents in interpretation of local and state law that are vital to establish as the increasing HSUS and PETA-driven legislative proposals, "rights of animals" training in our law
schools, and attacks on agricultural stock breeders, horse, sporting dog, pet breeders and medical research companies mushroom. This year alone the level of animal rights activity nationwide has been terrifying.
Rob Sexton, a Director of the US Sportsmen's Alliance, informed me a week ago Thursday that the USSA is donating $5,000 to the Willard Defense Fund (the Murder Hollow Basset case involving the PA Society of Cruelty to Animals seizure and charges).
We greatly appreciate their support in joining the efforts of NAIA, the PA Federation of Dog Clubs, the Masters of Foxhounds Association, the National Beagle Club, the Basset Hound Club of America, and many local clubs and individuals in supporting the rights of PA dog owners and to create new law in PA restricting limit laws and mandatory spay/neuter ordinances. The dog community is really coming together to move this important litigation to establish a national precedent stopping mandatory spay neuter legislation forward. The ramifications of the issues in this case are truly national in scope. It is vital that our defense team have the funding to develop and pursue all the elements of this case to their conclusion, for the protection of all of us, our rights and our wonderful dogs.
Any individuals or other clubs and organizations that wish to contribute this very expensive litigation can either charge their donation on the NAIA Trust web site (http://ping.fm/X20Qd) by clicking on the "Donate Now" link and following the instructions or by mailing a donation to NAIA Trust, PO Box 66579, Portland, OR 97290-6579.
Please distribute this message to your memberships and all e-mail contact lists. This is a must-win situation. We are at a critical pretrial stage right now, and your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your help and support.
